Large city garden

 

Situated in a city suburb, this beautifully renovated 1840's cottage has a generously proportioned garden. The garden retains its spacious feeling and provides numerous outdoor seating areas, including a breakfast bar and dining under the shelter of a gazebo. As many materials as possible were recycled from the site to create new 'old' sheds and a greenhouse.

 

Adults and children are enticed into the garden through a range of possible activities such as ball games, outdoor movies, basketball shooting, and even a fairy garden tucked under the ancient mulberry tree. Planting is a romantic connection to the heritage of the house and the family history. The furniture was designed and built for the garden and includes a bench table for the morning reading of the newspaper.
